Wow the Zoo trip had finally came and I was excited to know what group I was in We found out what group we were in and who was in to and just like that we were all on the bus to the Zoo. At last we were all at the Zoo even though it seemed like forever we had our morning tea and all the groups and raced around the Zoo to look at all of the animals my top 3 favourite animals were number 1 was the Tiger 2 is Spider  7jb ujm n  7 t8monkeys 3 is the Orang-utan. Did you know that if you got into the water with a tiger it would be able to swim faster than you, and the orang-utan are 97% like us. The Spider monkeys can climb really well with there tales.

After a hour or two we went and had our lunch. After our lunch we went and did activity's to do with orang-utan like open a jar with out using our thumbs, untie a knot with out using our thumbs and find and interesting fact about palm oil. My one was Indonesia and Malaysia carry 85% of the worlds palm oil then we switched and did things to do with pests. Such as Stotes rats mice and lots more. We learnt that they were brought to NZ by people trying to control the rabbit population so we looked around for a tracking tunnel to find out what type of foot print it was. When we had finished we headed back to the bus and back to school.

this week for money week we played a game the game was you had to save 20 dollars 

or 300 dollars

1. the sheet of paper we had helped us with keeping track and the good things in the game were a good price 

2 the risks were every time you landed on a bad things were very expensive and it got harder and harder

also if you didn't know how much money you have you could spend it all and have none left.

3 when you were so close to the end you lost a high amount of money and it was hard to get back up

4 the rewards were the things your bought  in the game were good things and the high amounts of money

few the loud ferocious drilling and banging is over and we have moved into our new clean class but wait more drilling and banging the toilets are not done nnnoooooo just when i thought everything was perfect well not now. it even has dust on the white board how bad could it get. this is torch-er but other than those things this class is amazing i have been working well and the quiet spaces are great my favourite is probably the quiet spaces and all the people in my class like it so that is a phenomenal start. i enjoy this class  because of the upgrades and all of the cool  furniture and the working spaces and how it is set up.

the thing that could improve is the curtons they are grey and dull i could add

maybe some art hanging from the ceilings  that would be cool i just can't wait to see how mu year goes in this class

Today we did made a tower using sticks and mini marshmallows and we had to try to build the tallest building using those objects and we worked in teams of 5 and 6 our teams one worked then it fell over and we lost but we tried our one was 4 and a half cm and the winning one was 21cm i found the hardest part was trying to make it tall and stable also if i were to change anything i would maby use bigger marshmallows or blue tac or sellotape.
what you need you need mini marshmallows,
Small sticks,
35 minutes time,
and then you make.
what we did we made a 3d diamond then stuck another one on top but then it fell down.`
the marshmallow were also to sticky.
the sticks are to short sometimes.

for writing we have been writing about a submarine and we had to make it very interesting by putting verbs describing words and language features i really enjoyed writing and i thought it was my best writing i had ever done and i am proud of it here is an example of my writing.
i hope that i keep writing like this.

in my reading i learnt about kakapo and my prior knowledge about them and some of our other native birds
in our country and my prior knowledge about them.
i now know that the kakapo is  nock ternal and they cant flay and they eat berry's from rimu treed

the kakapo is native to new zealand and i think it is green and had a short beak and the largest parrot

kiwis are brown with a long beak they are our main bird and they are endangerd animals the kiwi is nocturnal and that's how they get there food and they put their beaks under ground and get insects to eat the kiwi has wings but it can't fly there are different types of kiwi

tui’s are also native and eat yellow flowers from a special type of plant

takahe are similar to pukekos but they are wider and shorter the takahe are related to the pukeko

the pukeko are like i said similar to the takahe and are taller the pukeko steal eggs from nests but are very protective over their own the pukekos can fly but there legs are so long you can see them hanging down also they can not fly very high pukekos are blue and red but mainly blue

kereru are wood pidgins and make a strange noise they are green white and partly purple

on Tuesday i had my learning conversation with my mum
this time wit our learning conversation was different to what it usually is this time i was talking
instead of the teacher i talked about where i was at in my work and my writing,reading,maths,inquiry,and my blog. my mum was very impressed with me and liked this was much better because she liked seeing me talk and we played some games. The game were the visualization and fun with numbers my mun enjoyed both.

When we right our speech we have to use expression and have good posture and use eye contact when we speak and speak loud and clear so everyone in the audience can hear. Those are some of the things we have to do to make a good speech.

African safari is about a man visiting lots of different places in Africa.

First he visits the land of the giants. The giants are the elephants in Guvalala where 

he pitched a small camp, he pitched a camp near a waterhole and as the sun was setting

the elephants came out from the shadows and started to play in the water and also drink 

in the muddy pool. The next day came and the sound of the doves bathing in the shallows 

woke him. Next hiked to the watery wildness in Botswana after that it was the 

engulfed by darkness in the boiling Kalahari desert.  He also visited a lot more places he went 

round but then his journey had to end he will still remember the smell of the animals and the amazing

 trip/hike around Africa and he had a great time.

yesterday we went to mind lab and did some experiments  to do with colour blind people and how to program a robot.

we have been measuring all of the things and putting them in a spot on the plan
the hardest thing was getting the amount of grass i needed for the map and the cost of the grass
the easiest part was the calculations
and the part that i enjoyed was  the drawing and i need to work on for next time is the square metres

Science Day



Today we have been doing experiments with light
my favorite experiment is the ice cube experiment  
what we did was we put a ice cub on each colour card then we put them in the sun to melt  and we waited to see which one would melt first i guessed the black would melt first and i was right because 
the black attracts heat      





The next one which was also my favourite  was the prism one we went into the sunlight and it made a rainbow on the white paper.   

the thing i enjoyed the most was trying to make a rainbow on 
the white pease of paper and the trickiest thing was trying to make a rainbow on white paper i learnt that black attracts heat and i was surprised when the mirror reflected  and shone on the roof my group worked well when we worked together and made a rainbow on the white paper
                              

 This is  Joe he is a regular boy except he has 1000 pairs of trainers 1 formula race car 2 million dollars cash. He has every thing he could ever want but the one thing he wants next is a friend. His dad made all his money by selling loo rolls for 10 cents each at Joe's posh school the call him the bum fresh boy and make fun of him. They also have the dumbest subjects like noses in the air for an hour so he go's to a new school and meets bob. To find out more read billion air boy.

Demon Dentist

Demon dentist is about a young boy named Alfie gets a dentist

and  her name is mummy. Him and his friend gabs think shes up to no good

because at night strange things are happening children, are putting teeth under there pillow

and instead of getting a shinny new coin they would get snails spiders a bats wing still flying.

Affie gets an appointment with miss root the dentist from Winnie the social worker

and mummy ends up pulling all his teeth out

I would rate this book 9 out of ten because  is interesting and it 

is funny it also hooks you in.
